Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn had a day he’ll never forget, as he was taken by the Dallas Cowboys and allowed to reunite with his dad.

Deuce Vaughn can finally live out his dream, but for the former Kansas State running back, Saturday afternoon is a time he will always look back on with fond memories.

After the Dallas Cowboys selected Vaughn in the sixth round (212th overall), he received a life-changing call from a familiar voice.

On the other end of the line, a long-time Cowboys scout and Deuce’s dad, Chris Vaughn, shared the heartwarming moment with his son to the tune of tears throughout the draft room.

The instant reaction can be viewed below, as it has quickly gone viral across social media, racking up nearly a million views.

In the video, you can hear the duo soaking up every moment while trying to hold their emotions the best they can.

“You wanna come to work with me next week,” Chris Vaughn asks his son before revealing the big news.

Vaughn, casual in his response, simply couldn’t say no.

”I wouldn’t mind that at all,” Vaughn said.

Vaughn also heard from Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones regarding how proud they were of him for getting to be with his dad a lot more often, on top of an NFL dream.

How did Deuce Vaughn help Kansas State’s offense?

While at Kansas State, Vaughn was an intricate part of an offense that rode the wave to the Big 12 title game. The running back was sensational, rushing for 1,425 yards and eight scores.

Though he is undersized for his position, Vaughn would like to make a name for himself in a crowded NFC East that saw three teams qualify for the postseason, including the Philadelphia Eagles, who reached the Super Bowl in February.
