The Chiefs had the advantage of making picks in the NFL Draft coming off a Super Bowl and with a loaded roster. But did they get too casual?

Andy Reid and Brett Veach have built a dynasty in Kansas City. The goal of every football dynasty? Keep going. Keep winning.

The 2023 NFL Draft was another opportunity for the Chiefs to stock their roster for another run at Super Bowl glory.

How’d they do? Let’s take a look at each pick and how it adds up.

Round 1, Pick 31

It made for a helluva spectacle in Kansas City as the Chiefs selected Kansas State defensive end and hometown kid Felix Anudike-Uzomah to finish off the first round.

That doesn’t mean it was a homerun pick for the reigning Super Bowl champs, who do have some holes to fill on their roster in the interior defensive line and at tackle on offense, along with legitimate questions about whether the current lineup of wide receivers is good enough.

When Anudike-Uzomah becomes a Day 1 starter and impact player, feel free highlight this as a cold take but trading back to let the QB-hungry teams jonesing for a piece of Will Levis make the 31st pick may have been the better move.
