New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was teased by Aaron Rodgers for not knowing Jessica Alba, and the actress chimed in on Twitter.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made trips to Madison Square Garden as a near frequent destination since being traded to the New York Jets. He was spotted at a Rangers and Knicks playoff games with running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Allen Lazard. But, it was Rodgersā trip to Game 2 between the Knicks and Miami Heat with cornerback Sauce Gardner that really got the NFL and entertainment worlds talking.
When speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Gardner revealed that Rodgers told him that they were sitting next to actress Jessica Alba, but the Jets cornerback didnāt know who that was. From there, Gardner said that Rodgers looked at him like he was crazy for not knowing who Alba was.
āWhen we were getting seated, [Rodgers] was just picking on me a little bit for being young,ā Gardner said, h/t Daily Knicks. āWe were getting seated and he was like āweāre about to sit by,ā whatās her name? āWeāre about to sit by Jessica Alba,ā and Iām just like āOh, I donāt know who that is.ā And he just looked at me, he looked at me like Iām crazy.ā
Gardner later clarified in a separate tweet that he has seen Alba in movies before, but that he never looked up her name.
Then, Alba broke her silence about meeting Gardner at the Knicks game.

Alba responded to a video of Gardnerās press conference, recalled an exchange between Gardner and her friend, Lizzy Mathis, where the cornerback said āhow can I get caught up when Iām the catch.ā Alba then said that Gardner was āvery polite with his elder @AaronRodgers12. and everyone else in the room.ā The actress signed her message with āHoney and Storm,ā her characters from the films āHoneyā and āFantastic Four.ā
Gardner then responded to Albaās tweet, saying ādamn itās been 2 days and you still remember what I said word for word.ā The cornerback said he had a great time with Alba, Mathis, and his āchaperoneā Rodgers.
Rodgers caught wind of this and joked about being called a āchaperoneā and āelder.ā
Alba was in attendance for the game after getting invited by Knicks forward Julius Randle, per an Instagram post.
The Knicks won the game 111-105 to tie the series up at one game apiece.
