LIV Golf Tulsa payout, purse distribution by position for 2023
Looking at the LIV Golf Tulsa payout and how the $20 million purse is distributed by finishing position and how the team payout breaks down.
Back in the United States after stops in Adelaide and Singapore, we were treated to LIV Golf Tulsa this week at Cedar Ridge Country Club. Incidentally, LIV is playing in Tulsa the week prior to the PGA Championship in the city where the major championship was played a year ago. Surely, there was a bit of intention behind that.
During the first round of LIV Golf Tulsa, though, we saw Branden Grace fire off a 9-under round and jump to the top of the leaderboard, bringing his team, Stinger GC, to the top of the team leaderboard as well.
With 36 holes left to play after that, though, there were some heavy hitters not far behind Grace with Dustin Johnson and Brendan Steele tied for second just two strokes behind while Cameron Smith led the group at 6-under, just three strokes off the pace after Round 1.
No matter how things play out over the weekend, though, all 48 players in the field will get a hefty portion of the $20 million purse for the tournament. But how does the LIV Golf Tulsa payout break down? Let’s take a look.

We’re actually looking at a bit of a different structure for the LIV Golf Tulsa payout than what we’ve seen in previous invitational events from the tournament. While the top of the distribution is basically the same, we’ve seen increases down at the bottom of the field, but then roughly spots 4-12 are getting a bit less money than they did in previous tournaments.
Even still, with the last-place finisher in the 48-player field still getting $120,000, it’s not a bad gig for 54 holes of work.
LIV Golf Tulsa payout: Team purse and distribution of prize money
There is a $5 million purse for the team portion of every LIV event. That prize money is split among the top three teams in the tournament. Here’s how that money breaks down.
- $3 million
- $1.5 million
- $500,000
If a team places inside the Top 3, the prize money is then split evenly among the four members of that team.
