The Atlanta Braves have a new uniform patch… and we can think of five much better ones.

The Atlanta Braves are frontrunners in the MLB title pursuit, complete with an MVP candidate in Ronald Acuña Jr. and one of the best top-to-bottom rosters in the league. Not much is going wrong these days.

That is, unless you count their new uniform patch. As all sports leagues search for new methods of revenue, the “patch” has become a staple of the MLB and NBA alike. What better way to advertise your company than to have your logo bobbing up and down on the chest or arm of your customers’ favorite players.

Well, the Braves’ new patch is a rather significant ode to Quikrete: a concrete company, as you may have surmised, known for the rapidity of its concretizing.

As wonderful as that massive yellow brick looks — and, I get it, what better way to accentuate the navy blue and searing red of a classic Braves uniform than a yellow bag of concrete — we can think of some better options.

5. Georgia Aquarium

The Braves could support a local attraction with a purpose. The Georgia Aquarium is one of the biggest in the country, complete with plenty of educational opportunities and initiatives, as well as some of the world’s most beautiful creatures.

Plus, the logo — a slick, dark aqua-blue “G” with the tail of a fish — has a much greater aesthetic quality than a yellow rectangle.
