Best available NBA free agent power forwards: 1. Draymond Green

Draymond Green is one of the most interesting names in free agency. It is really unclear what the Warriors will do this offseason. It is assumed that they will at least try and keep the core together but when the luxury tax is involved there are no guarantees.

The Warriors are in this situation due to the fact that they choose to operate in a two-timeline window rather than try to maximize their time with the championship core. Joe Lacob has been very outspoken about the fact that he wants to rule the next decade rather than just the next five years. After Kevin Durant left the Warriors, this has been the game plan for the Warriors.

It has affected how much bench support that this era of Curry-Warriors basketball but the two timelines idea hasn’t ever affected a core player of the team until Green. The veteran started out the season on rocky ground after sucker-punching teammate Jordan Poole in practice, an act that, at the time, was attributed to jealousy over Poole’s extension.

Green has a player option but it’s widely assumed he will opt out for one more long-term deal. Will the Warriors be the ones to give it to him?
