It’s not every day a Steelers future Hall-of-Famer slips up and makes a fool out of himself. It’s a good reminder that T.J. Watt is, indeed, human.

Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt can do things normal people cannot. He can rack up 22.5 sacks in a single season, he can artfully dodge defenders with incredible strength and skill — but even he occasionally takes a wee tumble like the average clumsy fellow.

On Thursday, Watt posted security footage of himself accidentally slipping and falling into his pool, and it’s the kind of offseason content Steelers fans were afraid of. Upon seeing Watt lose his footing and fall into a relatively shallow pool, the state of Pittsburgh reared its head in extreme alarm.

Watt himself wrote a somewhat relieving caption to go along with his video, saying that he was “completely ok” and added a laughing emoji for good measure.

Whew. But… seriously, don’t try this at home.

Steelers’ T.J. Watt delivers the most relatable video of the offseason

A quick summary of events: T.J. Watt is scooping floating debris as any pool-owner would. He leans forward to try to reach a faraway bit of debris in the pool and slips, falling awkwardly into the shallow side of his pool. He immediately throws his phone onto a chair. His dog, mildly interested, starts to walk toward him.

While that phone is probably still stuck in rice, Watt seems okay. A huge relief for Steelers fans, who want to see their rebuilding franchise achieve more than third place in the AFC North next season.

T.J. Watt poses as one of the most dangerous pass-rushing threats in the division and in the league, and his 2023 performance will help Pittsburgh stay competitive against offensive powerhouses like the Bengals and Ravens.

In the end, there’s nothing to see here, folks. Just a big-time athlete making a little “oopsy” and thankfully coming out with no serious injuries.
