When is the last time Brooks Koepka won a major championship?
Brooks Koepka contended at The Masters and held the 54-hole lead at the PGA Championship, leaving golf fans asking when he last won a major championship.
Even before Brooks Koepka left for LIV Golf, he hadn’t been quite in the golf consciousness in the way that he once was, particularly in major championships. But he’s been all the way back in the 2023 major season, contending heavily at The Masters before giving it away to Jon Rahm, but then also taking the 54-hole lead at the 2023 PGA Championship.
Koepka started off at Oak Hill Country Club with a 2-over round on Thursday but then went on a run, shooting back-to-back 4-under rounds of 66 to take a one-stroke lead.
But since it has been so long for Brooks Koepka at the PGA Championship and otherwise that golf fans were wondering when the last time Koepka won a major actually was.
Last Brooks Koepka major championship win
Brooks Koepka won the fourth major championship of his career at the 2019 PGA Championship played at Bethpage Black, also in New York, as the historic Black Course. Koepka dominated that major as he jumped out to a one-stroke lead on Thursday but followed it up with another low round to take a seven-shot lead into the weekend. Even shooting even par and then 4-over in his two weekend rounds, he was far enough ahead to still beat Dustin Johnson by two strokes to win the Wanamaker for his second time.
Brooks Koepka PGA Championship wins
Koepka’s win at Bethpage Black in 2019 was actually his second PGA Championship win. But the impressive part of that is that he won both of those in back-to-back tries, notching a victory at the 2018 PGA Championship the year prior at Bellerive. This also marked a run of Koepka winning four majors from the U.S. Open in 2017 to the PGA in 2019. Talk about going on an absolute heater.
