LeBron James announced after the Western Conference Finals hinted is considering retirement. What that would mean for the NBA future of Bronny James?

There is no bigger pressure in the world than to be the child of a superstar. In the case of Bronny James, he is the son of one of the greatest basketball players of all time, LeBron James.

Bronny is pursuing his own basketball dreams as he recently committed to the University of Southern California on a basketball scholarship. He has already been tabbed as a potential lottery pick in the 2024 draft and LeBron has said in the past he’d like to stay in the NBA long enough to play with his son.

Here’s what retirement for LeBron James would mean for Bronny James

After the end of the Western Conference Finals, LeBron James hinted he is considering retirement. The NBA would not be the same without him but, if he does decide to retire before Bronny is to make the league, it would put the spotlight on him.

LeBron has been the ambassador of the NBA for the last 20 years and has been one of the most covered athletes of all time. At this point in his career, LeBron does not have much left to accomplish but one of his dreams is to share an NBA court with his son.

Unfortunately for Bronny, any time LeBron would be on the court with Bronny or if they were to play together, the majority of the focus would be on LeBron playing with his son rather than Bronny playing with his dad.

With that being said, if LeBron does retire, there will still be an immense amount of pressure on Bronny. If the spotlight is only on Bronny, then everything that would be mentioned is how he won’t become or how he isn’t his father.

Based on how Bronny has done in regard to the pressure already, with his dad out of the picture, we will get the chance to see him shine.
