Stefon Diggs turns up the heat on Buffalo Bills trade rumors
By Mark Powell
Is Stefon Diggs forcing his way out of Buffalo? Bills coach Sean McDermott is concerned about the situation after Diggs didn’t show up to OTAs.
The veteran wide receiver was frustrated with his team’s inability to close games in the NFL Playoffs, specifically after they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round.
During his appearance on The Shop in March, Diggs said nothing about leaving his current team; however, he spoke about the Bills’ inability to reach their full potential.
"“It doesn’t make sense. I’ll rack my brain with this s**t at this point. I think it’s more execution than anything. S**t is small little pieces on why it’s not going right. We’ve got the players. We’ve got the plays. Why s**t ain’t coming together? That’s where you draw some of those questions. I never want to question who I am, I never want to question how I am. I’m giving this s**t everything I’ve got. I’m dying on the hill for that.”"
Diggs made his displeasure with the team clear, and was even mentioned in trade rumors this offseason after some cryptic lingo on social media turned up the heat on his team.
NFL Rumors: Will the Bills trade Stefon Diggs?
Sean McDermott voiced his concern about Diggs absence, as he and the team have been at odds all offseason long. With team activities getting underway, now is when the two sides would theoretically reconcile. Instead, Diggs is nowhere to be found, and his contract is unlikely to be the issue at hand.
Josh Allen can be one of the best quarterbacks in football when healthy. Buffalo, as currently constructed and with Diggs in tow, is the class of the AFC East. The only way the Bills can mess this up is if they get in their own way.
Offseason drama won’t help. The longer this drags on, the more concerned McDermott and Bills fans should be.
