Yankees: 3 Anthony Volpe replacements, and why each is the wrong call

Yankees: 3 Anthony Volpe replacements, and why each is the wrong call, No. 3: Tim Anderson (or any trade deadline target)
When it comes to fans of teams, they will look toward the trade deadline to see if there are any options to improve a position of need. At this year’s MLB trade deadline, there won’t be many big names across all position areas. So Yankees fans want the team to give up prospects for a shortstop, but there are not many great options behind Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox.
Anderson’s name will come up among Yankees fans, considering that he is a two-time All-Star. But much like the White Sox as a whole, Anderson isn’t having the greatest of seasons, especially compared to his previous two years. He has played in 48 of the team’s 69 games played (as of this writing), missing time due to a left knee sprain suffered early on in the season.
In the 48 games played, Anderson is slashing .253/.292/.298 while recording zero home runs, 10 RBI, 21 runs scored, and 50 hits.
The Yankees trading for Anderson will force them to give up quite a lot based off of his resume alone. Come on, you know the White Sox are going to want one of Volpe or Oswald Peraza in the deal to slot in at shortstop.
At this stage, the Yankees’ best options are in-house. But, they should stay the course like owner Hal Steinbrenner said, and give Volpe some more time to break out of his slump.
