In yet another major NBA trade, the Warriors have landed a future Hall-of-Fame point guard. But, How many teams has Chris Paul played for? It’s starting to add up.

Chris Paul is a future Hall of Famer for a reason. He is the Point God. However, he’s made the rounds by now. In his mid-30’s, Paul remains a capable contributor to just about any contending squad, perhaps just not in a starting capacity.

With Golden State, it’s unclear exactly how Paul will be used. By flipping Jordan Poole for Paul, the Warriors have revamped their rotation in one full swoop. Paul could very well be the first man off the bench when all is said and done, especially if Golden State is able to re-sign Draymond Green.

How many teams has Chris Paul played for?

Surprisingly, this is actually a very difficult question to answer. Chris Paul started his career on the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets due to the catastrophic events of Hurricane Katrina. However, we’ll count that as one team since Paul spent the next several seasons on the New Orleans Hornets.

In 2011, Paul began his Los Angeles Clippers career, where he played up until 2017, when he was brought in by the Houston Rockets to pair with James Harden. As talented as that backcourt was, it also wasn’t enough to reach the NBA Finals.

After Houston, Paul played for the Oklahoma City Thunder where he surprisingly exceeded expectations. After one season in OKC, Paul moved on to the Phoenix Suns, where he finally earned a trip to the Finals. Paul’s Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, however.

Now with the Warriors, Paul has played for six teams, assuming he suits up for the Dubs this coming season. It’s a complicated career, but one that has come with many personal accolades.
