Wild-card landing spots for Fred VanVleet: 1. Utah Jazz

According to Andy Larsen, the Jazz are looking to acquire “good players” this offseason. After trading for John Collins, the team only has around $25 million left in cap space.

They would have to make more space in order to get VanVleet on the roster. One way that they could do this is by moving Kelly Olynyk. While the big man has $12 million on his expiring contract this season, Olynyk only has $3 million guaranteed in his contract. Getting assets for Olynyk and signing VanVleet might be the best move for a team that still isn’t done rebuilding but wants to somewhat compete now.
