Braves rumors: Charlie Culberson may have numbered days on the Braves active roster

Charlie Culberson has played 24 games for the Braves Triple-A affiliate but has yet to record an at-bat in the MLB this season. Despite that, Culberson has been on and off the active roster for a bit of the season. This roller coaster ride from Triple-A to the big leagues will likely be ending for Culberson soon. More than likely, the Braves will replace him for good with a trade acquisition.

Alex Anthopoulus is known for his largely successful trade deadline deals and that likely won’t change in 2023. Anthopoulus will likely be active again at this trade deadline, adding pieces for infield depth that would be much better options than the 34-year-old veteran, Charlie Culberson.

The Braves will likely be patient with their trades. They are one of the best teams with one of the best records in the MLB. They don’t need to and won’t be forcing any trades anytime soon. But they will absolutely be adding depth in case of a major injury to one of their infielders. Culberson is currently listed as their second-string shortstop, which puts Atlanta in a really bad position if their starter, Orlando Arcia ever sees the injured list.
