Jack Leiter, RHP and Top-5 Prospect for Rangers

Jack Leiter was the second overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Rangers out of Vanderbilt University. He’s now pitching to AA Frisco in the Rangers minor league system. This season he is 2-4 over 14 games started. Leiter has a 4.85 ERA over 65 innings pitched, and he’s thrown 85 strikeouts.

Leiter needs more development in the minor leagues but has tons of potential. The Cardinals already have some talented pitchers in the minor leagues, but as Cards fans have learned, you can never have enough pitching.

Goldschmidt is from Texas and attended Texas State University in San Marcos, where he met his wife, Amy, during his freshman year. It could be an exciting homecoming.
