MLB rumors: Ohtani trade buzz, Boone’s seat temp, Dodgers demote prospect

The All-Star break is here, but there is no slowing on the MLB rumors front. Shohei Ohtani trade talk is heating up along with other news around MLB.
The MLB puts a league-wide pause on meaningful games until the end of this week for All-Star festivities, but nothing is stopping the rumors from moving. Today, we look at the job security of one pressured manager and the possibility of a Shohei Ohtani trade still being discussed.
Dodgers send Miguel Vargas down to Triple A
After the move was telegraphed over the weekend, Miguel Vargas has officially been sent back down to the minor leagues after struggling at the top level with the Dodgers. The Oklahoma City Dodgers, LA’s Triple-A team that the second-baseman joins, is also off until Friday.
Vargas’s batting average has dipped below .200 at the major league level, batting .146 since the start of June with an OPS of .565.
