Breaking down notable cuts at Royal Liverpool as we look at the Open Championship Saturday tee times for the 2023 British Open.

Unless your name is Brian Harman, it was a tough day at The Open Championship with Royal Liverpool Golf Club showing its teeth in a major way on Friday for the second round with the cut coming for the weekend.

Harman, of course, shot a monster round of 65, 6-under for the day and putting him well out in front of the field at -10 for the tournament after 36 holes. After Tommy Fleetwood followed up his T1 performance in the first round at -5 with an even-par round, he’s the closest chaser at The Open with Sepp Straka (-4) in third and Min Woo Lee, Subhankar Sharma and Jason Day all tied for fourth place.

With the cut line coming and the winds picking up on a dried-out golf course, though, we saw some big names like Rickie Fowler, Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Robert Macintyre and several others fighting to see the weekend.

But now the weekend at The Open Championship is set, so let’s take a look at some notable cuts before we move onto the Open Championship Saturday tee times.

Open Championship notable cuts: Did Rickie Fowler, Scottie Scheffler make the cut?

There were some big names who just barely made it to the weekend, making the cut on the number, a group that includes Brooks Koepka, Patrick Cantlay, Scottie Scheffler, Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler, Robert Macintyre and Ryan Fox.

Unfortunately for some other big names, they found themselves on the wrong side of the cut line. Justin Thomas (+11) was unable to rebound from a first-round 82, Dustin Johnson (+13) exploded for an 82 of his own on Friday to end his Open Championship week early, as did Phil Mickelson (+9) after a Thursday 77 and Friday 74.

Other notable cuts at the British Open were Shane Lowry (+7), Si Woo Kim (+7), Tony Finau (+6), Justin Rose (+6), Joaquin Niemann (+5), Collin Morikawa (+4), and Keegan Bradley (+4).
