Premier League news: Kane to Bayern, Rice replacement, Henderson leaves Liverpool
Today’s Premier League news includes Harry Kane being linked with a move to Bayern Munich. West Ham United have stepped up their efforts in finding a replacement for Declan Rice and Jordan Henderson has left Liverpool to join Al-Ettifaq.
Premier League news: Harry Kane to Bayern Munich
Harry Kane may have won the Tiger Cup with Tottenham Hotspur but this was just a pre-season tournament. It is time for the England captain to get his hands on some proper trophies, which would be guaranteed if he were to move to Bayern Munich.
According to 90min “Bayern Munich want to step up their pursuit of Harry Kane and set up another meeting with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.”
Bayern have won the Bundesliga 11 times in a row and Kane would fit in perfectly in the side still looking to replace Robert Lewandowski. Winning a league title would also be almost certain at Paris Saint-Germain. However, Kane is thought to favour a move to Bayern.
If Kane were to go to Germany then he would be leaving behind the prospect of beating Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record. Although, winning a major trophy would be a far greater achievement than any individual prize.
Premier League news: West Ham’s search to replace Declan Rice
There is a massive void in West Ham United’s midfield following Declan Rice departing the club for Arsenal. Whoever the Hammers sign to replace him will have a big job on their hands.
Team Talk has reported that “West Ham are continuing talks over Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse with a deal now believed to be very possible.”
Ward-Prowse was relegated with the Saints last season and needs Premier League soccer if he is to get back into the England squad. The player’s leadership, experience and dead-ball prowess would make him a huge asset to David Moyes’ side.
Premier League news: Jordan Henderson leaves Liverpool
Jordan Henderson has confirmed his Liverpool exit on his social media channels. The player’s decision to go to Saudi Arabia has come under a lot of criticism, as Henderson had supported many LGBTQ causes. However, in the country where he will now be based, the punishment for homosexuality is death.
Money talks and Fabrizio Romano has revealed that “Henderson is in Croatia @ Al Ettifaq’s camp to complete his move on a three-year deal.”
Signing Liverpool’s captain is a big coup for Al Ettifaq who are managed by Reds legend Steven Gerrard. However, the move will likely mean the end of Henderson’s England career as the standard in the Saudi Pro League is far from the top divisions in Europe.
