Ahead of the first pitch, the weather radar didn’t look good in terms of an uninterrupted game though it should be able to start on time.

However, weather is a tricky thing and there’s no telling exactly where that storm will land or when.

The Cubs are coming off an encouraging series win over the Braves in Chicago. They are now just 1.5 games out of first place in the NL Central and hold one of the National League wild card places.

The Mets need a momentum changer. They have lost six straight, suffering sweeps at the hands of the Royals and Orioles since the MLB trade deadline. They are now fourth in the NL East and only 1.5 games ahead of the last-place Nationals.

The last time the two played, the Cubs took the first two games while the Mets enjoyed a Game 3 victory.
