Sure sounds like AJ Brown is frustrated with Jalen Hurts

Despite a Week 14 victory, the postgame vibes in the Philadelphia Eagles locker room weren't particularly high. More specifically, star wide receiver A.J. Brown was visibly and audibly displeased, even though his team narrowly prevailed over the Carolina Panthers.

Brown spoke to the media following Phildelphia's 22-16 win over the Panthers, and he was rather candid about the club's offensive deficiencies. Moreover, his facial expression did just as much of the talking.

As you can see, Brown wasn't in the best spirits. When asked what area(s) the Eagles' scoring unit must improve, he kept it short and simple: "Passing" (h/t 94 WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks).

However, as Brown vocalizes, it's "incredibly tough" for even elite wideouts of his caliber to get in a groove in an incredibly low-volume passing attack. Ostensibly, the inability to get settled into a stride has reached a boiling point, leading to the three-time Pro Bowler airing his grievances publicly.

Intentional or not, Brown's comments are blatant shots at Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. The 27-year-old is fed up with the run-heavy approach. Moreover, the signal-caller's knack for and willingness to call his own number surely doesn't help matters.

Quite literally, no pass-catcher has done more with less than Brown. He's the only receiver in the NFL with at least 750 receiving yards and fewer than 45 receptions. As a decorated and wildly accomplished player, his desire to be more involved is warranted. Nonetheless, Philly's ground game is the backbone of their offense, headlined by Hurts, all-world tailback Saquon Barkley and the sturdy run blockers up front. So, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Right?

The Eagles have ranked dead last in Pass Rate Over Expected (PROE) this season through Week 13. Meanwhile, they ran the ball 31 times compared to 21 pass attempts against the Panthers in a game they trailed early, further exacerbating the issue. Subsequently, Brown only saw four targets versus Carolina, catching all of them for 43 scoreless yards.

Regardless, with the Eagles advancing to 11-2 on the back of the league's most potent rushing group, it's hard to envision an actionable philosophical change. While Brown is irked, he won't suddenly get force-fed, barring unforeseen circumstances. So, rather than dwell on his lack of looks and individual success, embrace the cumulative prosperity Philadelphia is enjoying.
