Atlanta Falcons strike first with Steven Jackson touchdown (GIF)

The Atlanta Falcons were looking to put on a show for the fans in the Georgia Dome on Thursday Night Football in a game against the NFC South rival New Orleans Saints. The Falcons were underdogs heading in to the game thanks to plenty of injuries and a poor defense, but they were able to get on the board first.
The Falcons got the ball deep in to Saints territory after a big play from Matt Ryan to running back Jacquizz Rodgers.
Later in the drive, Ryan connected with Harry Douglas, who was close to breaking the goal line. The referee initially ruled the play a touchdown, but Douglas’ knee came up short.
However, coming up short didn’t turn out to be an issue as running back Steven Jackson pounded the ball into the endzone on the very next play.
Unfortunately for the Falcons, the Saints were able to drive down the field and even the score at 7 as time in the first quarter came near an end.
