The 2-8 Atlanta Falcons fought about as hard as they could tonight against the dominating New Orleans Saints to scrounge up their third win of the year, but they just couldn’t put it all together. In the end, the Saints walked away with a 17-13 victory, sending the Falcons further into their tailspin.

This hasn’t been the best year for the Falcons, which is pretty obvious. After the way last season ended, no one expected this. Not Falcons fans, not us writers, not the national media–no one saw this coming. Tony Gonzalez especially didn’t see this coming when he decided to return for one more year to try to get that elusive Super Bowl ring.

But, get the Super Bowl ring Mr. Gonzalez will not. The Falcons have a lot of figuring out to do and it should be an interesting offseason to see play out.

However, the offseason isn’t here just yet, which has Atlanta fans very sad.

It especially has this little guy sad, although, by god, he’s still going to hold up his ‘Rise Up’ towel with pride: sad
