The Phoenix Suns are currently the cinderella team of the 2013-14 NBA season, as they went from being sure-fire tankers to a team looking to lock down a top spot in the conference playoffs and possibly even a division title. All of this is happening thanks to largely unknown players getting coached up and performing well not he court together.

Phoenix is what almost everyone expected the Minnesota Timberwolves to be this year, but their regression has depressed fans and made them even more anxious about Kevin Love’s future in Minnesota. Bob Young of The Arizona Republic opines that the Suns are in a perfect position to make a run at a top free agent like Kevin Love and not only have the money to do so but be a desirable destination above all else.

"If Love isn’t looking at the Suns, he should be. They have a good, young nucleus of players that is about to include Eric Bledsoe again. They have a coach, Hornacek, who has proved right out of the gate that he knows what he’s doing and has the trust and confidence of his players."

Love has been routinely mentioned with the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, but the Phoenix Suns are an interesting outside choice. He’d no doubt be the sole superstar leader and face of the franchise, but he’d have the team in Phoenix that we all thought he’d have in Minnesota. It’s far too early to make predictions on where Love will land, but the Suns aren’t that bad of an option.
