The Minnesota Timberwolves will be meeting with head coach Rick Adelman at some point over then ext 24 hours to  discuss his future with the team. It’s expected that Adelman will be stepping down as head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves now that the season is over so that he can tend to his ailing wife.

With Adelman likely out, the search for anew head coach seems to already be underway and thusly the names of candidates are being crossed off before we can get too far along in the process. According Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, the Wolves are unlikely to attract the attention of head coach George Karl.

Per Zgoda:

"Coaching superagent Warren Legarie was at the game. … He gave the impression client George Karl wouldn’t be interested in a rebuilding job such as the Wolves’."

Karl has been a name floated around a few times recently, as the job in Detroit is the only official job opening in the NBA while it’s rumored that the job with the Knicks could open up too.

Both jobs are better than Minnesota and if Karl returns to coaching, it won’t be for e rebuilding team.
