In what came as a bit of a surprise, only two of the Kentucky Wildcats’ many underclassman declared for the 2014 NBA Draft.

Power forward Julius Randle seems to be a lock to go in the top five, so that came as no surprise. Swingman James Young also looks like a likely lottery pick, which is why he is the other Wildcat that declared.

According to Chuck Myron of Draft Express, Young would be a good fit for the Denver Nuggets.

"Hmm, well, they’re reportedly looking for a long, defensive-minded shooting guard, so maybe James Young (6’7″) would be in play. Rookies are rarely defensive standouts, though, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them turn to free agency to fill that need instead. In that case, I could see them going for a shooter. Maybe Doug McDermott or Nik Stauskas"

The 6’7, 215-pound Young looked like the Wildcats’ second-best player throughout most of the season. He averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
