The San Antonio Spurs walked away with the victory in a contest which was played under the most extreme conditions, given the fact that there was an electrical issue inside the AT&T Center that caused the air conditioning to go out, creating an 88-degree temperature on the court.
For the most part, it appeared that was going to be the main story coming out of this one. That was until that issue affected the best player on the court, LeBron James.
Yes, in the waning moments of the Heat’s Game 1 loss, James went down with cramps and had to be carried off the court. He did not return to the game.
Afterward, the sports world began to weigh in with their opinions on the most infamous cramping incident of the last 50 years, and that includes a well-known sports drink company that believes they maybe could have prevented the cramping, had James been their client instead of their rival’s.
James is indeed a client of Powerade, in case you couldn’t tell by the plethora of ads that James has been involved with.
Whether or not being a Gatorade client could have prevented this drastic event, we may never truly know. However, if you take yourself to twitter right now and do a quick search, I’m sure you can find all sorts of neat answers.
