The MLB Trade Deadline is just around the corner which means that teams all across baseball are going to be looking into possible trades that may or may not end up developing over the next few days as the deadline approaches.

More from Cleveland Guardians

One team that may be looking to make a big trade are the Toronto Blue Jays, and the name they’re monitoring may not be the one we’ve been hearing about the past week or so. While Texas Rangers outfielder — and former Blue Jays star — Alex Rios has bee been the subject of trade rumors, the name that the Jays are now looking at is shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera.

Ken Rosenthal passed along word that the focus of the Jays has switched from Rios or Cabrera in the 11th hour of the trade deadline approaching.

This seems to be a better option for the Blue Jays but at the end of the day they’re not going to chase trades at all unless they think it can be an affordable situation. Adding Cabera is a hot option for Toronto but it’s not one the Jays are going to drop everything to make happen.
