The Minnesota Timberwolves have yet to trade Kevin Love and have stomped their feet on multiple occasions suggesting that they may not do so. Of course, few believe them, especially considering few believe the T’Wolves want an unhappy Love on their roster all season.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

Still, the problem with a Kevin Love trade may not be because of Flip Saunders or a lack of assets in a return, but rather Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor. Still unhappy with the results of the 2007 trade that sent Kevin Garnett to the Boston Celtics, CBS Sports reports that Taylor is hesitant to make a deal because of that.

"Two league sources told CBSSports.com this week that Taylor remains hesitant to trade Love, still stung by the aftermath of the trade that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston in 2007. The team has won more than 30 games only twice in the seven seasons since.“I don’t think Glen Taylor wants to do the deal,” one of the people familiar with the discussions said."

While Taylor may not want his Minnesota Timberwolves to trade away Kevin Love, at this point it appears as if the relationship is beyond repair. The last thing he wants to do is keep his frustrated All-Star on the roster only to lose him at season end because of free agency, so while he may not want to make a deal he’s going to have to.

Of course, we’ve seen owners before struggle to grip reality and continually believe they can convince their unhappy star things will get better, but it seems inevitable that Kevin Love will be traded no matter if Glen Taylor is content with such or not.
