Poor Johnny Manziel just can’t catch a break.

More from Cleveland Browns

Since the reports surfaced that the Cleveland Browns have decided to go with Brian Hoyer over Manziel as the team’s starting quarterback, everyone has been providing their “hot sports takes” about the situation and why Manziel didn’t get the job.

However, there was one person we had not yet heard from whose opinion everyone was dying to have.

Enter Senator John McCain.

Wait, what?

That’s right, John McCain decided to share his thoughts on the Cleveland Browns quarterback situation and he expressed his belief that Johnny Football still has some growing up to do.

“I just think he’s gotta grow up,” McCain said when asked about Manziel, via SportingNews.com. “When I was a young navy pilot, I’m glad I was not on national television; that’s all that I can tell you.”

Thanks for that, John.

What we all would like to actually here is what that young navy pilot was doing that he would have been ashamed to have air on national television.

When someone like John McCain is sharing their thoughts on the current NFL landscape, it is a sign that perhaps we should all dial back on the Johnny Manziel coverage.
