Apparently, it’s the offseason of shedding pounds in the NBA.

More from Minnesota Timberwolves

While the weight loss of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were the most documented, they weren’t the only NBA players to pick up better eating habits and drop some fluff. One such player to do so was Anthony Bennett of the Minnesota Timberwolves who is looking much svelter and toned as he embarks on his first season with the T’Wolves.

Bennett, the first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft was traded (along with Andrew Wiggins) by the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love in late August. Immediately upon his arrival, Bennett and multiple other players on the franchise were sent by the Wolves to California where they took part in an intense training program.

Granted, Bennett was obviously working to lose weight far before he was sent to California, but the end results look rather impressive.

While there’s no official weight on Anthony Bennett, it’s clear the former UNLV star looks far more toned and has lost the extra padding that weighed him down during his rookie season in the NBA.

It’s also been noted that Anthony Bennett, who suffered from sleep apnea and difficulty breathing had surgery to correct the issue. He and the Timberwolves are hopeful that his new body along with the changes will help the former top overall pick become the player so many hope/expect him to be.

He’s certainly doing all the right things, now he just needs to produce on the court.
