MacBook Air to come in colors next year?

Apple has been a busy company of late.  If you didn’t hear somehow, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were unveiled on Tuesday and are set to release to the public next week.  While the special event held by Apple didn’t focus on computers at all, it looks like the MacBook Air may be next to get its time in the spotlight.

Sometime around mid-2015, it looks like the MacBook Air is set to get a big upgrade.  The computer has remained relatively unchanged since it was initially released, outside of minor adjustments.

Mac site, Cult Of Mac, is suggesting that the changes to the MacBook Air may not only be internal this time around.  Apple is supposedly eyeing a release of a MacBook Air with retina display, and doing so in three different colors: slate gray, gold, and silver.

For the first time ever, a MacBook Air would be offered in something other than aluminum gray.

The first report was provided by A Tech Website, and while the colors for the MacBook Air would go along with the options offered in the Apple Watch, we have to take these rumors lightly for now.  The track record just isn’t there for A Tech Website, and until we hear more, it’s little more than speculation.

MacBook Air currently retails at 11 inches for $899 and 13 inches for $999.

All of this news is on the heels of the iPhone 6 Plus selling out just hours after it went on sale last night.  Customers will now have to wait a few weeks to get their hands on the larger phone.
