Stephen A. Smith is a basketball guy, so when he talks about the NFL you need to understand he may screw up. When speaking on the Atlanta Falcons during Wednesday’s edition of ESPN First Take, Smith crossed back over to his comfort zone and mentioned a big win for Atlanta over the New Orleans … Hornets?

The fact that Atlanta beat the “Hornets” is one of the reasons that Smith believes the Bengals should be No. 1 in the NFL power rankings. Since, you know, Cincinnati beat Atlanta.

We will ignore the flawed logic for a minute and just point out that the New Orleans Hornets have not existed since 2013. Hey, at least the Hornets and the Saints have the same owner in Tom Benson, so Stephen A. Smith can at least have that going for him.
