For parts of eight seasons, Danny Granger was a focal point of the Indiana Pacers franchise. Of course, Granger was traded during the NBA’s deadline last year, a scenario which didn’t sit very well with the veteran forward.

Granger expressed frustration towards the Indiana Pacers front office though apparently held no grudges as he thought about re-signing with his former franchise during the offseason.

Of course, that’s not how things played out as Danny Granger opted to sign with the Miami Heat, but the idea of returning certainly crossed his mind.

It’s not known if the Indiana Pacers would have even wanted Danny Granger back considering he’s become a shell of his former self due to injury. Granted, after the Pacers lost both Lance Stephenson (free agency) and Paul George (injury), Granger would have likely have been of interest though Indiana obviously couldn’t see the future.

As for Granger signing with the Miami Heat, the forward verbally did so before LeBron James decided to leave South Beach and head back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s not known if Granger thought he’d be playing alongside LeBron though King James’ departure opens up more floor time for Granger who could see run at power forward as well.
