Georgia RB Sony Michel out indefinitely with shoulder injury
By Mike Marteny
The Georgia Bulldogs survived a hard fought battle against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday in Athens, but they didn’t come out of it completely unscathed. Freshman RB Sony Michel had to leave the game in the first half with a shoulder injury, and it now appears that he will be out for a while.

There is still no word on the severity of the injury, but this from Georgia coach Mark Richt does not sound promising.
Michel had gained 223 yards rushing on just 23 carries while backing up Heisman Trophy candidate Todd Gurley. Michel also caught six passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, proving that he can be a valuable asset for the Bulldogs.
His backup role will likely be filled by fellow freshman Nick Chubb. Chubb has 146 yards rushing on 23 carries, and also has a 20 yard touchdown reception on the season. He is not as dynamic as Michel, but should be a capable fill in for the Bulldogs as they try to win another SEC East title. That said, Chubb has only averaged 2.7 yards per carry on 15 attempts in the last two games against Troy and Tennessee.
This could mean even more carries for Gurley, who ran a season high 28 times for a career high 208 yards in the win over Tennessee after getting just six carries in the rout of Troy.
