Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has been known to be a rather emotional player. While that emotion can sometimes be viewed as a hinderance to an athlete, it can also be an extreme motivational tool when channelled correctly, and that appears to be what happened to Bryant against the New Orleans Saints.

“I just wanted to go get a great meal, just enjoy a little bit of family time with my brother,” Bryant told Ben Rogers of KRLD-FM 105.3, via the Dallas Morning News. “And there were a lot of Saints fans. I went to Pappadeauxs. You know, it’s like a Creole spot. And you know me. When people get to disrespecting, I got to say something back, but I didn’t.

“A lady was saying ‘Who Dat? Who Dat? I don’t care if he’s being right there. Who Dat?’ … while I was trying to eat my meal,” Bryant said. “So, I had to keep calm, which I did. And in my mind I was like, ‘Man, this lady need to shut up.’ Well, it was a little worse than that. But, I kept my composure. And I was like, ‘Man, I really hope we beat the brakes off of them.’ And I really hope she tuned in. I know she did.”

Of course Bryant and the Cowboys went on to beat the Saints 38-17 on Sunday Night Football, Bryant catching the final touchdown of the game to re-extend the lead and seal the win.

“You know what the greatest thing about tonight was?” Bryant asked. “I got to close it out. I got to close it out, Man. Dagger. And shout to that lady. And I really hope she sees this. Cause I’m going straight to Twitter after I get dressed.”

After the game Bryant was caught dishing it back to the Saints saying “we dat,” a pro-Cowboys spin on the Saints “Who Dat.”

Bryant is the only one who has channeled the taunts of fan into motivation for an excellent performance and a win.

During LeBron James’ first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was being taunted by a Toronto Raptors fan before going off for 24 points in the fourth quarter and leading the Cavs to a come from behind victory. The fans, who were Chris Bosh’s cousin and girlfriend, were then credited for the comeback win by James in a post-game interview.
