They couldn’t change their jersey given it’s a process that takes a few seasons so the Cavs decided to do the next best thing by installing a new basketball court. While rumors of the change had been whispered for weeks the Cleveland Cavaliers officially unveiled the new look on Twitter and the responses were mixed at best.
While the mid-court logo will look familiar you’ll likely notice some subtle color changes to the baseline along with a new script. Those changes of course pale in comparison to the added skyline which now adorns the lower portion of the court, across from the benches.
It’s certainly unique though almost gives off more of a collegiate feel compared to some of the more plain courts we see in the NBA. That said, we’ve seen teams getting a little more creative with their court designs recently as the New Orleans Hornets have incorporated a honeycomb pattern while the Toronto Raptors have created three dimensional illusions on their baseline.
So how say you, FanSided? Are you a big fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers new court? Or should they have stuck with the old look?
