Keys to Victory

This should be a classic Big Ten matchup featuring some physical running and hard hitting from two defenses and a strength vs strength matchup pitting the Nebraska rushing attack against the Michigan State rushing defense.

Abdullah leads the nation in rushing with 833 yards and has three games with more than 200 yards rushing already. He faces his toughest defense to date as the Spartans own the nation’s No. 6 rush defense, allowing 80.80.75 yards per game and 2.91 yards per carry.

Betting Odds

Point spread:  MSU -7
Moneyline:  -275
Over/Under: 59.5

Prediction

Abdullah is able to find some running room against the Spartans front seven and rushes for more than 100 yards, but Michigan State doesn’t allow the big play and forces Tommy Armstrong to beat them with his arm and he can’t make enough plays in the passing game to defeat Michigan State in their stadium. Cook manages the game for the home team and finds Tony Lippett for two touchdowns and Langford leads the Spartan rushing attack as he stays close to the pace set by Abdullah.

Final Score: Cornhuskers: 24, Spartans: 31
