Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel cannot run and hide from anybody these days.

With January comes the Super Bowl. With the Super Bowl comes the end of another exciting NFL season. With another end of an exciting NFL regular season comes NFL Honors, the awards ceremony neatly put together by the new-age league office.

Not only do we get to see who wins the MVP, but we get the thrill of watching our favorite players walk on the red carpet.

Glitz, glamour, and of course…humor.

One of the more important aspects of NFL Honors is hiring the right man to get up on stage and grill the attending guests. This year’s host is Seth Meyers, the man who took over Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night slot on NBC.

In his opening monologue, Meyers has seemingly already targeted a popular choice in Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Ouch.

“Johnny Football” only started two games during his freshman NFL season. He of course went 0-2 with a pathetic quarterback rating of 42, throwing for 145 yards, 0 touchdowns and two interceptions.

Incredibly, his much anticipated first career start against the Cincinnati Bengals turned out to be much worse than his final season stats indicate.

Manziel has obviously been under the gun since his terrible rookie season painfully came to an end. Fans were distraught and even teammates questioned his work ethic.

Even one unnamed teammate called his season a “100 percent joke,” notes CBS Sports.

While it’s tough for veteran players to witness such a hyped rookie come into the league and flop due to lack of skills, it’s also understandable. When a team just misses on talent, reasoning is easy to explain.

The current aura around Manziel is much, much, much worse.

When certain descriptions like work ethic, dedication and laziness start to circulate, you’ll find yourself becoming the target of a lot of hatred. You’ll also find yourself out of the league very quickly.

If Tim Tebow was the guy who was forced out due to lack of talent, then Manziel will be the opposite: out of the league due to lack of caring.

The haters are in full force and Seth Meyers very predictably took his chance at a very easy target tonight.

Over/Under five on Manziel references tonight by Meyers? I might just take the over.
