Prior to Wisconsin and Duke battling it out for the title on Monday, a bald eagle made an appearance during the national anthem

More from March Madness

We are just a mere moments away now from the Duke Blue Devils and Wisconsin Badgers battling it out for the national championship in Indianapolis. Now, as we all know, prior to a major sporting event getting underway, a nice rendition of the national anthem must be played.

Well on this lovely Monday basketball evening, the national anthem was more than we could have asked for, and there was also a special appearance.

While the greatest song in the world was being played for all to hear inside Lucas Oil Stadium, we got a cameo appearance from the nation’s bird, the American Bald Eagle.

Ah, yes, ‘Murica! indeed. Now that is how the national anthem should be presented every time out, not matter what sporting event it is here in this great country. Just seeing the bird makes the playing of the Star Spangled Banner just that much better, and that’s a known fact, more or less.

Now that that’s out of the way, though, we are now moments away from crowning a new national champion of college basketball.
