If the records hold up in 2015, the Washington Redskins could be playing two consecutive games next season in London.

The NFL on Wednesday, announced the games that will be played in London in 2016. While the league wants to eventually ramp up the amount of games played in London, it will be three games overseas for the league again next year.

It just so happens that the Washington Redskins could very well end up playing in two of them, with the games coming in consecutive weeks.

According to ESPN, the Redskins will for sure be playing in one of the games in London, when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

"The Redskins will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 30 at Wembley Stadium, the NFL announced Wednesday. The team also could face the St. Louis Rams a week earlier at Twickenham Stadium depending on how Washington finishes this season in the NFC East.In the first of the three games scheduled for next season, the Indianapolis Colts will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley on Oct. 2."

It just so happens that if the Redskins and Rams finish in the same spot in their divisions at the end of the 2015 season, which is looking like a very real possibility, then the two teams would also be facing off in London, meaning the Redskins will be playing football in Europe for two straight weeks.

This doesn’t come as a shock, as their was a previous report that the league was looking to schedule a team to play consecutive weeks in London next season. Now it’s looking like their plan is coming to fruition so long as the Rams and Redskins both finish in the same place in their respective divisions.

It also raises the question of whether or not the Redskins gain a competitive advantage for their second game, by having extra time to adjust to being overseas and having their body clock in better shape than the Bengals, who wouldn’t be arriving until a week later.

These are all questions to be asked at a later time, but it’s looking like the Washington Redskins are going to get a bit of an international flavor in 2016.
