A look at which conferences will be letting the most teams into the NCAA Tournament this week

The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee has spoken, and we now know what the complete March Madness field looks like. But now that we know who’s in and who’s out, one of the questions on everyone’s mind is which conference got the most teams into the fold?

Well, here is the answer.

Really, when you think back to the regular season and conference tournaments, it’s not all that much of a surprise that the four conferences at the top have the most teams in. The ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and Big 12 were pretty deep and talented this year, so it’s not a huge shock that they’re entering a lot of teams for a shot at the national championship.

As for the Big East coming in with five, that’s a pretty good sign there. The regular season for the Big East was one of the most fun to watch during the regular season, and after what we saw this past week, we were reminded once again that they can put on one of the better conference tournaments as well. Seton Hall’s run, which ended with the title, captivated the college basketball world. Showing once again that the conference is far from dead.

Then, of course, you have the American Conference, who was helped a bit on this list with the magical run that the UConn Huskies had during that tournament.
