After his thrilling Masters win last week, the putter Sergio Garcia is using is selling out.

On the first playoff hole last Sunday, Sergio Garcia rolled in a 12-footer for birdie to win the 81st Masters and the first major of his career. It’s not uncommon for equipment a pro uses with success to find great popularity with the average golfer, and Garcia’s putter is the latest case.

In a video on Golf Channel.com, equipment insider Matt Adams explains how TaylorMade is struggling to keep up with demand for the Spider Tour putter.

"“The putter is so popular right now that orders are absolutely flooding in,” said equipment insider Matt Adams of the Golf Channel. “All of the new orders coming in are backordered to meet demand until the end of May.”"

Garcia put the putter in his bag for the WGC Match Play event in March. He is also not the only player on tour that has used the newly-designed TaylorMade putter in competition, with Jason Day and current world No. 1 Dustin Johnson also doing so.

Putting has long been the notable weakness in Garcia’s game, often showing itself at critical moments and in majors before last week. But on the tough greens at Augusta National, he averaged an outstanding 1.65 putts per hole. That’s as good an endorsement for a putter as any, even it the average recreational golfer does not nearly have Garcia’s talent.
