The now infamous $1200 Gucci hoodie has become all the rage in the NBA Playoffs

The big stage of the NBA Playoffs provides an opportunity for star players like LeBron James, DeMar DeRozan and James Harden to take their unique fashion game to the next level. Or, instead, just wear the exact same thing.

This past Thursday night, the Spurs absolutely stunned the Rockets, steamrolling James Harden and Co. to an embarrassing degree right in front of the Houston faithful by a whopping 39 points.

It was ugly and confusing and definitely over. But then Harden threw on a $1,200 hoodie and patiently answered questions, all of which focused on his horrendous performance.

Ah yes, the power of the pricey, calming hoodie.

All was seemingly right and light in the world of Jimmy, who then proceeded to let off some steam at the club with Kylie Jenner.

As Harden should have, because you know damn well most of us would’ve done the same thing. After all, his season was over.

What was he supposed to do, go home and play Mortal Kombat with a friend in Vietnam?

I think not.

However, the problem remains — in a league known so well for fashion fails and fashion fire — that not one, not two, but three NBA stars stepped up to the podium in the same exact $1,200 Gucci hoodie over the span of a week.

Which is, in a word, weak.

The only winner here is obviously Gucci, especially after the branding guru that is LeBron James wore it to his presser and wore it well, ensuring the logo went completely unobstructed.

So, what’s happened to the absurd and often hilarious originality we’ve become so accustomed to among NBA players?

Ya’ know, like this.

Right here is where the world flat-out demands that Adam Silver reinstate OKC back into the playoffs.

We want Russ, we need Russ.

Sadly, Mr. Triple Double is presumably holed up with his personal assistant at a secret location strategically planning his outfits for the entire 2017-18 season. Although, in that sense, we actually win there because the first round elimination of the Thunder allows more time for Team Russ to design customized Jordan Brand roller skates.

Nonetheless, despite its recent surge in popularity, the “Off-White Felted Hoodie” by Gucci is readily available for purchase if you don’t feel like paying most of your rent next month.

The best part? Wait for it…

That’s right, free shipping!

But in the event that $1,200 is simply too steep for a hoodie, may I suggest a Romper, bro?

I’ll show myself out.
