It is not terribly surprising, but the Atlanta Falcons parted ways with a trio of veteran players on Friday that will generate interest on the free agent market. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Atlanta has released running back Michael Turner, defensive end John Abraham and cornerback Dunta Robinson.
Major moves in ATL: Falcons are releasing CB Dunta Robinson, RB Michael Turner and DE John Abraham today.

All three players were cap casualties. Here are their 2013 salaries: Robinson $9 million, Turner $8.9 million and Abraham $7.25 million.
The cuts of Turner and Robinson are not a bit surprise, but Abraham comes as a bit of a shock. Atlanta was already short on pass rushers and without Abraham they will be even more in need. Look for the team to address defensive end very early in the 2013 NFL Draft.
