The Atlanta Falcons and tight end Tony Gonzalez have reached an agreement that will bring the future Hall of Famer back to the Georgia Dome for another two-year at $7 million per year. The Atlanta Journal Constitution was first to pass along the news:
Tony Gonzalez contract was 2-years, $14 million with $7 million guaranteed. Cap number for 2013 = $5.25 million

Gonzalez still has a lot of quality football left to play and his return allows the team to pass on tight end in the first-round of the 2013 NFL Draft and address needs in another area. The signing of Gonzalez cannot be understated.
Atlanta is knocking on the door and Gonzalez’s presence keeps the team among the NFC’s top contenders to reach the Super Bowl. Does Gonzalez’s return keep the Falcons at the top? Sound off in the comments section.
