Albany to Offer Head Coach Will Brown a Four-Year Contract Extension
By Josh Sanchez
The Albany Great Danes made the NCAA Tournament field for the third time under head coach Will Brown after earning the America East conference tournament championship. Unfortunately for the Great Danes, they ran into a tough test in their opening tournament match up against the No. 2-seeded Duke Blue Devils.
Despite the loss, Albany is prepared to give coach Brown a four-year contract extension that would keep him under contract through the 2017-18 season.

Albany athletic director Lee McElroy announced the news.
“Now all he has to do is accept it,” said McElroy, via Pete Iorizzo of the Albany Times Union.
Brown has been head coach for the Great Danes for twelve seasons and is the longest tenured coach in the America East conference. This season, he led Albany to a 24-10 season that included a 9-7 conference record.
McElroy and Brown will discuss the contract extension in greater length following the conclusion of the Final Four.
