It has been a relatively quiet offseason as most NFL players have been able to stay out of trouble, but today we had an arrest. Thankfully for the Atlanta Falcons and safety William Moore, this one can slide under the radar a bit because of the release of the 2013 regular season schedule this event, but you can be sure NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will not miss this news.

According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Moore has been arrested for simple battery.

The Falcons responded to Ledbetter’s report with a statement.

“We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information,” a Falcons spokesperson said.  “Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”

Just last month, Moore signed a five-year, $30 million deal with the Falcons.

Hopefully for Atlanta, he can avoid any suspensions from the league office and make their investment well worth it.
