It’s the trade that wont die.

After the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics spent all weekend and part of Monday attempting to create a workable trade, the two sides finally gave up on Tuesday as they were unable to come to terms on a deal that would have included a package of players centered around Kevin Garnett and DeAndre Jordan.

Except apparently, they didn’t – rather, the deal was simply put on hold.

According to Mark Heisler, both the Clippers and Celtics will re-open trade talks before the 2013 NBA Draft this coming week, assuming the Clippers are still void of a head coach.

Per Heisler:

"The Celtics and Clippers aren’t talking again but, barring coaching hires or announcements Doc Rivers is returning, the teams will re-engage before the June 27 draft, a source told SportsCity.com."

The Clippers have reportedly shown interest in both Brian Shawn and Lionel Hollins to be their head coach, but with the Denver Nuggets also showing interest in both, the Clippers may need to make a decision on their future head coach quickly, whomever that might be.
