Colin Kaepernick was spotted wearing a Miami Dolphins hat and fans of the San Francisco 49ers were outraged to see their quarterback sporting another NFL team’s colors. Colin Kaepernick, unwisely, yet defiantly defended his choice of attire on his Instagram account.

The 49ers quarterback eventually succumbed to pressure and backlash on social media and sported his team’s colors.

By all means it was negative publicity and probably not a fun experience for Kaepernick. So why, after watching the negative response someone got, would you try to invite that upon yourself?

I can’t answer that, but the Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White wanted some of the spotlight too.

“Kap getting a lot of flack for that hat and I got like 4 Mitchell and ness throwback hoodies of different teams that I wear does that count,” White said on Twitter.

What caused the problem more for Kaepernick wasn’t necessarily the action, but his follow up instagram post calling out angry fans.
