In somewhat of a historic free fall, the San Francisco Giants have quickly went from dreams of repeating as World Series champions to potential MLB trade deadline sellers.

Granted, in an extremely weak division, the Giants are still well within grasp of a playoff birth assuming they can turn their season around. However, if the slide continues, the Giants wont have much reason to keep a handful of their bullpen veterans and the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox will be more than happy to relieve them of those arms.

Per Jon Morosi:

"Sources: #Tigers and #RedSox have checked in with #SFGiants on bullpen arms in case SF decides to sell. @MLBONFOX"

The most likely desired arms would be Jeremy Affeldt and Javier Lopez, both elite left handed relievers who would bring much needed help to both the Tiger and Red Sox bullpens.

As of right now, it’s unlikely the Giants would pull the plug on their season but a hot streak by the Los Angeles Dodgers or Arizona Diamondbacks combined with a continued slumping Giants and the life support may be taken off.
